Our HistoryNRail, as an organization, has it's roots in the NTRAK newsletter. Jim FitzGerald starting putting together the "NTRAK Newsletter" shortly after the 1974 NMRA convention. At the convention, NTRAK founder Ben Davis and members of the Belmont Shore Club had a 12' x 72' layout with 50 to 100 car trains.
The NTRAK Newsletter, and therefore NRail by extension, has had a long history of promoting N-Scale modelling; not just NTRAK modules. In 1993, the NTRAK Newsletter introduced Bendtrack (Nov/Dec Issue) In 1996, NTRAK became "NTRAK Modular Railroading Society, Inc." a non profit, 501 c3 type corporation. As stated in our Articles of Incorporation, our goal has been to promote N-Scale model railroading in all forms, through a variety of community activities; including exhibits, lectures, workshops, conventions, educational classes and historical displays. In 2001, T-TRAK was introduced to the United States through the NTRAK Newsletter (Sept Issue). In 2021, the formal name was changed to reflect the long running truth that we support ALL forms of N-Scale modelling. Our name was officially change to NRail.
Today, N-scale is the second most popular scale in the North America. The NRail Newsletter continues to be a communications channel for all N-scale modelers as we continue to support, promote and celebrate all things N-Scale! |
